TomsBGRemover started as a response to a common frustration: background removal tools that require uploading your images to the internet, hide quality behind subscriptions, and break workflows when servers are slow or unavailable.

The goal was never to build hype or promise "one-click magic." The goal was to build a reliable desktop tool that runs locally, gives creators real control, and behaves consistently across real-world image batches.

TomsBGRemover is built as a Windows desktop application using modern AI segmentation (ONNX / U²-Net–style models), with dependable CPU processing and optional GPU acceleration where supported. Everything runs on your machine.
